What Are You Hungry For?

Updated: Nov 12, 2025

Follow the spark of desire that leads you home to yourself.

October is a very special month to me. I grew up in Florida where the seasons barely change, so when I moved to New England, I fell in love with the magic of this time of year. The crisp air, the vibrant leaves, and the golden light that filters through the trees still stop me in my tracks.

The photo above was taken during our “Hungry Like the Wolf” retreat. It captures one of my favorite moments of the retreat: all of us jumping up on a rock during a hike, surrounded by fall colors and full of energy. That moment wasn’t just about the jump. It was about saying yes! Yes to joy, yes to connection and yes to what we’re truly hungry for in mind, body and spirit.

This month, I invite you to hold on to that feeling of aliveness as we move further into fall. This brings us to this month’s theme: Icchā.

Theme of the Month: Icchā (Desire, Intention, Will)

In yoga philosophy, Icchā is the spark of desire and the will to move toward what matters most. It is not about craving what is out of reach. It is about recognizing what your heart is calling you toward and aligning your actions with that inner knowing.

Just as wolves follow their instincts and stay connected to their pack, Icchā reminds us to listen closely to our own inner voice. It is about moving with purpose, trusting our senses and honoring what we truly need to thrive in mind, body and spirit.

This season is a perfect time to ask:

  • What do I want to bring more of into my life?

  • Where am I being called to lead, to connect, or to grow?

  • How can I honor my desires with both courage and grace?

“Go out into the wilderness of your intuition, follow your longing, and you will find your way home.”– Clarissa Pinkola Estés
